2023 CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES:
- Define disenfranchised grief and ambiguous loss and understand their relationship to substance-related deaths.
- Describe the impact of addiction on grieving children and families and themes of bereavement after substance-related loss.
- Expand our definition of grief and loss by including non-death losses.
- Understand ambiguous grief and its relationship to addiction both before and after a death.
- Employ strategies to support grief reactions due to substance-related deaths.
- Explore the role of advocacy in grief due to addiction and overdose.
