• Describe the impact of addiction on grieving children and families and themes of bereavement after substance-related loss.
• Expand our definition of grief and loss by including non-death losses.
• Understand ambiguous grief and its relationship to addiction both before and after a death.
• Employ strategies to support grief reactions due to substance-related deaths.
• Explore the role of advocacy in grief due to addiction and overdose.
