For Pete's Sake - Emily Marsch's Page
In one of my favorite celebrity interviews (not that I have many), Anderson Cooper and Stephen Colbert talk about their own grief and the losses they have experienced. In it, Anderson Cooper said something that profoundly resonates with me: "I wish that I had a scar that’s unavoidable for people to see because it would be a silent signal to everybody I meet that I’m not the person I started out being.”
I participate in Good Grief's Nights of Support because at Good Grief, everyone can see that scar. In a culture that often misunderstands and overlooks grief and loss, I have found so much support in the community that Good Grief creates for grieving families.
It is for this reason that I'm excited to be participating in Good Grief's Second Annual 5K Run and Walk at Mercer County Community College. This event raises awareness for grieving families and helps raise necessary funds for the program. Good Grief is 100% privately funded, and their programming is free of charge to all participants for as long as they need the support.
I would love for you to join us at this event on Sunday, May 19th. I will be participating in the 2 mile walk, but there is also a 100-meter dash for kids and, of course, the 5K! If you can't attend the event, please consider making a donation or signing up for the virtual 5K. Every dollar makes a difference!
Thank you so much!
