My Uncle Lorne made a difference and now you can too!
I am excited to be participating in Good Grief's 2022 5K Run and Walk! My team, the Woppa Woppas are walking/running in memory of my Uncle Lorne who passed away at 91 years old last year. Uncle Lorne would exuberantly yell “Woppa Woppa” whenever the best things in life came his way. He stood in as my father figure when my Dad passed away in 1976 and I will never be able to thank him enough.
I know first hand how hard it was for my Mom to raise three young children. We were fortunate to have a strong support system from our extended family like my Uncle Lorne and Aunt Judy but many are not as lucky.
As a Board Member of Good Grief, I want to help raise awareness for grieving families and to help raise critical funds for our programs that help so many in our communities. Good Grief builds resilience in children, strengthens families, and empowers communities to grow from loss and adversity. Good Grief is 100% privately funded, and their programming is free of charge to all participants for as long as they need the support.
